When a Chrsitmas Kiehls invite hits your inbox you know it’s going to be good night. You may have seen a little while ago that I spent the evening with them learning all about skincare and having my own skin consultation to find out exactly what my skin needs. It was such a lovely evening (you can catch up on that here) and I could not wait to spend the evening with them again.
We met at their Cardiff store in the St David’s shopping centre and was greeted by pink candy cane mocktails and Whittard hot chocolates which tasted delicious. We settled down to hear about the history of Kiehls and I am still so fascinated by the fact that they started back in 1851 as an apothecary in New York. This explains their white lab coats, simple packaging and of course the lovely Mr. Bones. Starting as an apothecary means their products are designed to heal the skin. They also contain naturally derived ingredients and some contain things that can naturally be found in the skin.
We had the chance to speak to their facial specialist or decorate our own gingerbread biscuits at their decorating station. Once again we were treated to skin consultations, allowing us to each learn more about our individual skin types and what would suit them best. Did you know that you can have oily skin but it can still be really dehydrated?
Their Christmas packaging was absolutely beautiful and they had a fantastic display of their new limited edition Christmas boxes that had been designed by students at University of South Wales. There are some beautiful gift sets too if you are looking for ideas for someone special or just a treat to yourself. My favourites are the Midnight Recovery Oil and the Daily Reviving Concentrate. I would love to try the Midnight Recovery Cleansing Oil too!
Do you have anything on your Christmas wish list from Kiehls? Let me know in the comments what you would love!
