I have been putting off this post for a little while, mainly because I wasn’t really sure what to write or how to write it. Anyone who has followed my little blog for a while will have realised it’s been a bit quiet lately on here and on my social media. I wish I could say I have been swanning off to different countries, doing lots of amazing things and just generally living the high life… I haven’t. In fact, I think I have done the opposite.
At the start of the year I was dealing with some health problems and not long after my birthday I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. Today’s post isn’t about that and it’s not really something I have spoken about on here, but it is one of the main reasons I have been quiet. I have tried to cut back a little bit and not force myself to do as many things and to rest a little bit more. Life took over and it was time to sit back and say no a little bit more. I have tried to take away all the pressure that inevitability comes from trying work full time, run a blog and just adult.
I have decided to try and start posting a few bits and pieces again in hopes that I can build it back up to my normal schedule. Unfortunately, just because I’ve decided to start posting again doesn’t mean I’m through the worst of it. I still struggle most days (some more than others) and some days I can feel completely overwhelmed by it all and lonely too. It’s quite hard when friends and family can’t really fully understand what you’re going through. That being said, I am trying to move forward and trying to find a better balance – so please bear with me!
I haven’t done too many exciting things lately that I can share on here, but I have made progress on the wardrobe situation – or lack of should I say. In case you didn’t know, my wardrobe clear out got a little brutal! So, I’ve been trying to update it a little bit. I think I have been saying this for at least the past 8 years, but this time I feel like I am actually getting somewhere! I have been keeping my eye out for bits I can wear here in the UK as well as bits for a holiday too. I have tried to focus on buying basics and more casual bits that I can dress up or down depending on the situation. I am loving this denim shirt that Boohoo kindly gifted me. It’s perfect for those spring days where it’s not quite warm enough for summer clothes, but too hot for knitwear. I paired it with some black jeans and espadrilles and it was my perfect casual spring day time look. I also took my white jeans out of my suitcase at the weekend and it looked perfect with them too.
Other than a little bit of shopping I have spent most of my time with friends and family, just enjoying time together. We have done a little bit of walking, sitting in the sun and had a couple of barbeques. I have also realised that as much as I have missed going at full speed and being super productive working and blogging, I have enjoyed the extra time I have had to see my friends and family.
The warmer weather is slowly creeping it’s way into Wales and my sisters and I have made some fun plans. I also have an exciting holiday to look forward to and I can’t wait. I am hoping I will be share it all with you on here too. So, here’s to fun plans and finding a better balance!
What have you all been up to lately? I would love to hear from you, so please leave me a comment below!
