So today’s post is a little bit different from my others, in that it’s a mixture of things that I have tried recently and really wanted to share with you. First up is the Aldi candles. The social media hype on these was insane! Luckily, I managed to grab 2 online and have them delivered for free…who even knew Aldi did that? I was super excited to try them seen as they were being labelled as the dupe for the infamous Jo Malone ones.
So were they worth all the hype?
As much as I hate to say it, they seemed just like your average candle. They looked absolutely lovely and were definitely reasonably priced, but for me they didn’t quite have that strong signature scent that Jo Malone ones have. That being said for the £3.99 price tag they were definitely good value! If you’re looking for more Jo Malone or The White Company dupes, I would definitely check out my previous post about the U Melt Me wax melts. They are amazing and I would definitely recommend and repurchase those!
Next up are the Biotrue rewetting drops*. Yes you did read that right and it might sound like a strange thing to include in a blog post, but if you wear contact lenses then you know how much they come in handy. I was kindly sent these and as I had a new pack of lenses I put them straight to good use. I was instantly impressed with the packaging, as it helps prevent you from touching the top; preventing all the nasty bacteria going in your eyes. Plus, it has a pump style action to release the fluid making it really easy to use. I can’t really comment on the hype around these as I see them as an every day essential rather than a little treat.
On the subject of eyes, I was also kindly sent this Therapearl eye essential mask*. This isn’t something I have tried before or ever considered trying; so it was all completely new to me. I did however really like this too! You can heat it up or chuck it in the freezer until it’s iced depending on what you want to use it for. I used it when I had a really bad headache a few weeks ago and it really helped. It’s almost like a cozy hot water bottle, but for your face. I’ve also frozen it and used it during a mini pamper session to help reduce any puffiness around my eyes. Like I said it’s not something I have thought to purchase myself, but after trying it I can definitely see why they are appealing.
Next up is the Nano intensive whitening strips*. I had seen these and their other products all over my Instagram feed and was desperate to try them! I was lucky enough to be sent these by Nano and Rhianna Olivia as I won her Instagram competition (YAY me!). I had seen so much the hype over the years over different whitening strips on the market, but had no idea where to start. Nano have quite a selection of whitening products that you can find here. Of course, as soon as they arrived I had to give them a go and I did see a small change after just one use! I now can’t wait to see the finished result. These are normally £24.95 for a 2 week box set and so far I am impressed. Make sure you keep an eye on my Instagram and Twitter, as I will definitely be posting a final verdict on there once I’ve finished. Spoiler alert… I think they will be worth the hype!
The final thing I wanted to include is Blogosphere magazine. As per normal I’ve been living under a rock with this one and it’s definitely worth ALL of the hype! After seeing it plastered all over my social media, I finally managed to get myself to a WHSmith to pick it up. It was so interesting to read through; I learnt quite a lot and found some new resources that I didn’t know of. Plus, it was so nice just to sit and read about bloggers and not the same old celebrity gossip. I love it so much that I am going to sign up for their subscription service, so that next time I can have it before it hits the shops.
I hope you have enjoyed this little random round up. Let me know in the comments if there is anything new that you have tried or anything you think I need to get my hands on!
