I don’t know about any of you, but I am fairly new to the podcast world. I knew all about them, but never really got on board with listening to them let alone subscribing. That all changed around 6 months ago when I got fed up of my boring commute. I was travelling around 3 ½ to 4 hours a day backwards and forwards to work and it was absolutely mind numbing. So in an effort to make the journey a little more bearable each day I threw myself into podcasts. I loved it so much that I wished I had started sooner.
In the past 6 months I’ve realised that I love podcasts all about positivity and living a full life. Reading that sentence back I know it sounds really airy fairy, but I find it so motivating. If I am having a rubbish day I always put one on in the car and instantly cheers me up, makes me rethink my current situation and feel so much more motivated. I also find they really make me think about my outlook and approach to life – in a good way!
With all that in mind I have put together 3 podcasts that I cannot recommend enough if you are looking for a little motivation or even a lifestyle overhaul.
I only found this one recently, but instantly loved it. So much so, that I binged listened to all of season 1 in one day and then moved onto season 2 the next day. The podcast is put together by Monica Beatrice Welburn from The Elgin Avenue and Ella Gregory from CoCo’s Tea Party. As the title suggests they discuss lifestyle and wellbeing topics in the same way you would with your best friend. They discuss some of the most common experiences and topics that we all face in our twenties from social media comparison, the quarter life crisis to finances and how we measure success. I absolutely loved how they approached each topic and was pleasantly surprised by how much I related to each and every episode. I find their discussions so inspiring and they have really motivated me to make some positive changes to my life.
Style Your Mind is put together by Cara Alwill Leyba who also has 6 books that she has written including one that complements the podcast, as well as being a life coach. I remember listening to the first episode and could not believe how she had basically summed up my current life situation in the first ten minutes. I was instantly relieved to know I wasn’t the only person to be in that situation and felt that way. I couldn’t wait to hear all about how she turned her life into something so much better. She is so open, honest and real with all the experiences and advice that she shares, but she is also fiery, full of energy and so motivated that you can’t help but think well if she can do this then I’ve got this!
Ok so this podcast is very different to the first two, however from my recent skincare saviours post you will know I am an avid Liz Earle fan and when I found out she had a wellbeing podcast I was instantly intrigued. Of course as the title suggests it’s all about wellbeing and it compliments some of her most recent books including The Good Gut Guide and Skin. I find it absolutely fascinating listening to all her knowledge, experience and advice of all things food and health. I have learnt so many new things and love to learn about how the food I eat or what I do affects my body and how it functions.
Have you listened to any of these podcasts before, if so what did you think? Do you have any other podcasts that you think I will love? Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions.
