I can’t believe it’s time for another week in photos post already! I loved doing last week’s post and I definitely enjoying making these little journal/catch up style posts. So let’s get started – the past week has been a busy one!
Saturday morning I woke up and felt awful, but I had made plans earlier in the week, so I dragged myself up and into the shower ready for a busy day. My friend popped down to see me and we decided a nice little wander would be perfect. The weather wasn’t really on our side, but it didn’t put us off. We headed to Porthcawl; a little town near where I live. We had a lovely walk along the seafront and spent the majority of the time admiring all the lovely dogs. I have decided that people watching no longer interests me, however dog watching, well that’s a different story. We decided to make a little pit stop at Piccolo Bar to have a cuppa and a toastie, which was very much needed after all our walking.
After making our way back along the sea front and back to the car, we decided to pop into Next to see if there were any good bits in the sale…
Nine items later, I managed to walk way with a bag full of casual tops, a dress for the summer and 2 jumpers. I am really lacking in nice, but casual bits at the moment, especially bits that I can layer up for when we go out for the day. So, I was extremely pleased with all my new bits.
Saturday evening was spent at Ice Arena Wales watching the Cardiff Devils play ice hockey. It’s always such a good atmosphere and I managed to have a nice little catch up with my mum at the same time.
I’ve made a goal recently to try a new recipe each week. Since then I seemed to have dedicated Sundays to baking day. Last week it was Crème Egg brownies and this week it was marble Nutella cookies. They were absolutely amazing and had the best consistency. Cookies are one of my favourite things to make and I think these were my favourite recipe yet! I can’t wait to make them again, but maybe with some different fillings.
Monday – Wednesday
On Monday it was back to the office for the 9-5 grind and my evening consisted of ironing and sorting out a few blog bits. So, nothing exiting to report there. Tuesday and Wednesday were fairly similar too.
Thursday was a chaotic day in the office, getting everything finished before the 4 day bank holiday weekend. However, it definitely ended on a high note as I was able to go for dinner with my best friend. We went to a little restaurant called The Pickled Radish in Laleston, near where we live. The food was absolutely incredible and made from fresh Welsh produce. You can see the full review and what we had to eat here.
The first day of the bank holiday weekend – utter bliss!
Although it was a bank holiday, it was a fairly average day. We popped to some designer outlets to look for some ‘outdoorsy’ clothing. We have both absolutely loved being outdoors more lately. I love being in the fresh air and just going for a wander, so we want to have to wardrobe to go with it. We get caught out and stuck in the rain far too much in Wales, so we are hoping to put an end to that. Last weekend we went to Aberdulais tin works and waterfall and I started my National Trust photo diaries on the blog. You can read all about that here if you want to see where we went.
It has been another good week and with 3 days left of the Easter weekend I am sure next week will be just as good!
What have you been up to this week? I’d love to hear from you, so please leave me a comment below.
