Although 2018 has crept up on me, I have been very excited for it to start. A new year, a fresh start and a chance to create new opportunities for myself. I started the year full up with a cold, yet I still seemed to have plenty of motivation. I sat making lists of things I would like to do, blog post ideas and breaking my goals down into manageable piece, but before I get started on that, I think 2017 deserves a little recap.

2017 – The Rough Times

There were a couple of rough times in 2017, including 2 operations; the second one being quite unexpected. I didn’t feel my best and I lost a lot of my energy and motivation, however I was reminded of how amazing my family are friends are.

2017 – The Good Times

I had some fantastic things happen last year including moving into a new home, making new friends, fantastic blogging opportunities and travelling to different places in the UK; Chester and Winchester being the highlights.

So what does 2018 have in store? Quite a lot I bloody hope!

I have this funny feeling that it’s going to be a good one – I just know it! I am not normally one for new years resolutions and goals, but this year I am well and truly jumping on the bandwagon. Just before Christmas, I suddenly felt more inspired than I had in months. A few different things happened and it was as though a light bulb had been switched on and suddenly there was clarity around things that had been bugging me for such a long time. Having this clarity made me realise who and what is important and how I can change my priorities.

2018 – Blogging and YouTube

This is a perfect place to start, as a lot of my energy will be driven into my blog and YouTube channel this year. I am looking forward to creating lots of new content and making the most of this year’s opportunities. I have been on and off with YouTube for quite a while now, but like blogging I love the creative aspect of it, so I am going to give it a bloody good go! If there is anything you would like to see on my blog or channel then just let me know in the comments below. I also want to be more engaged with my followers and other bloggers, so I am really going to try and up my social media game and get more involved too.

2018 – A New Side Hustle

For some time now, I have been playing around with the idea of doing more photography work. Couples, families, bloggers, babies, animals, announcements – you name it, I would love to try it. I’m not really sure what’s been holding me back other than time, but unless I try I will never know if it’s for me. Plus, it gives me a great opportunity to learn some new skills and make the most of my camera.

2018 – New Adventures

I have a mental bucket list of all the new places I would like to go to. Some are abroad and others are right on my doorstep. This year I am going to get out and about more and explore new places; including all of the great places that the UK has to offer. I always feel inspired when I go somewhere new; even if it’s only half an hour down the road.

2018 – Small Changes

I also have lots of little goals for 2018. I have a fantastic stack of books to read and I can’t wait to get them ticked off my list. I have also found lots of new recipes I would like to try, so meal planning will have to become a thing in my house. Finally, I want to find happiness in every day. It might sound cheesy, but I think this will have a huge impact on my outlook on life. I was kindly given a 5-year memory a day book for Christmas and I can’t wait to put it good use.

Do you have any goals or things you would like to do in 2018? I’d love to hear from you, so please leave me a comment below!
