Sunday Skincare: Origins Shining Stars

So the new year wouldn’t be complete without some new skincare inspiration and that’s exactly what I have for you today. Well that’s only if you haven’t been living under a rock like I have. I have always ooed and ahhed over Origins products as everyone seems to rave about them, but have just never got round to picking any up. A few months ago I was at a designer outlet village and popped into The Cosmetic Company Store. You might have seen me mention them on the blog before as I managed to pick up double wear foundation for £16.50 last time I went in there! So I already knew they did amazing deals, but didn’t expect to find this amazing Origins set on their shelves. I snapped it up straight away especially as the GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser has been on my list of things to try for the longest time. The set was an amazing £18.75 and the other goodies were just a major bonus.

So first things first, I absolutely love the moisturizer and I cannot believe I haven’t tried it sooner.  Its brilliant in the mornings as it has an amazing orangey fragrance and leaves you feeling super fresh and awake as soon as you apply it. It has a gel like consistency and leaves your face feeling hydrated and smooth. I am not normally a fan of gel moisturisers, but this one was definitely a lot better than I ever expected. It sinks into your skin and dries really quick; creating a really good base for makeup too. I have really dry skin and only need a small amount, but will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out.

Next up is the GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser, again this has the same fantastic fragrance and is perfect for those morning showers to help wake you up. It does contain ingredients that helps exfoliate your skin and get rid of any dead skin cells, but is still really gentle. I haven’t had a chance to try the actual Modern Friction Nature’s Gentle Dermabrasion yet, but I cannot wait to give it a go, in fact it’s on my to do list for tomorrow. If its anything like the rest of the set I think I am going to love it.

Lastly is the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and what can tell you other than this stuff is like liquid gold. My skin absolutely loves it. So much so that I am on the hunt for another one already so I don’t have to go without when this one runs out. Again, the fragrance is absolutely stunning and probably one of my favourite skincare fragrances (if that’s actually a thing). It’s not the same orangey smell, but avocado and apricot and it’s absolutely divine. If you haven’t tied this yet I cannot recommend it enough. My skin drinks it up and I wake up with my skin looking calm, fresh and plump. It feels ridiculously smooth where it has hydrated my skin and I just don’t think I can rave about it enough – go out and buy one today!

It’s been a long time since I have loved so many products from the same brand, but my goodness Origins is going for gold at the moment. I think its quite clear that I need to get my hands on some more of their products. I really would love to try the Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask and also the GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream that goes with the moisturiser because you know I am getting old now and eye cream is going to have to become a thing, but that’s beside the point. I have absolutely loved using these, more than I thought I ever would. If you haven’t tried Origins before or you are just looking for something new to try I would definitely recommend them and if you can only afford to pick up one thing at the moment, I think the overnight mask would definitely be the perfect treat.
