A Rainy Sunday Afternoon at Verdi’s Cafe

A few weekends ago we planned to go for a nice little walk by the beach. By the time we were both ready to go and we jumped in the car, it was pouring with rain and I mean bucketing it down. Not wanting to waste our Sunday afternoon, we decided to pop down to Mumbles in Swansea for some lunch at Verdi’s cafe.

Verdi’s is known for its fantastic ice cream and perfect location on the seafront. Despite the weather it was nice to go somewhere we don’t normally go. I decided to go for something light and chose a ham sandwich with salad on the side. Ryan went for an amazing looking hawaiian pizza with olives and garlic bread … which sadly he was defeated by.

We couldn’t possibly drive all the way there and not have dessert so Ryan chose the cookie crumble ice cream sundae and after some persuasion I was tempted into having a chocolate brownie. Not just any brownie, but a gluten free one! I was so impressed with the selection of gluten and dairy free desserts and to top it off it tasted absolutely amazing; probably one of the best I have ever had.

They have a great selection on the menu and the prices were really reasonable. Its perfect if you want something light to eat or if you just want to grab a hot chocolate and a piece of cake. On the other hand, you could always do what we did and have it all with one of their infamous ice creams thrown in as well. If you are ever in the area I would definitely recommend popping by, you won’t be disappointed.
