If your anything like me, you might sit on the internet or social media in your spare time hunting down the next skincare item that you just have to try… ok maybe that’s just me! If you have been following me for a while you will know that I am obsessed with all things skincare and love testing anything new out. Over the past few weeks, I have seen Clinique’s Fresh Pressed 7-Day System with Pure Vitamin C products creeping into my social media feeds and I knew I had to try it out. I was kindly invited down to the Clinique counter to learn all about the new product and I instantly knew I had to share all the information with you.

Ok so first of all there are 2 parts to the product. The Renewing Powder Cleanser and a tube of the Daily Booster; both with vitamin C. The 7-day system retails for £25, which may seem a little pricey, however they say that you can see results from the very first use. If you love the product, they also do a larger set that obviously works out a little bit cheaper. It’s important to remember that vitamin C degrades over time, so it needs to be used within the first 7 days ideally (14 days at a push) before it becomes ineffective.

As much as we all love a blog photo, I thought it would be more helpful if you could see for yourself whether you think my skin improved. I filmed a mini skincare diary/vlog that’s over on my YouTube channel. It shows how I used the product and my skin at different times of the week.

So what did I think?

I absolutely love the concept! The benefits of vitamin C on your body in general are amazing and to see it introduced in skincare products is a brilliant idea. You might have seen from my previous post that I have rosacea and you will see on day 1 that I had quite a bad flare up. After the first use I didn’t see a change in the redness (I didn’t expect it to change to be honest), but I did see a huge difference in how soft, smooth and hydrated my skin was!

The powder cleanser comes in daily sachets that you mix with a small amount of water until you get a paste formula which you can use like any other cleanser. The only problem I had with this was that it was a little bit messy, although being powder form it would be fantastic for travelling! It left my skin feeling extremely fresh, clean and exfoliated, except it didn’t have any abrasive texture like I thought it might. The daily booster has a serum like consistency and you mix 2 drops in with your normal moisturizer. I was kindly given a toner*, a mini Moisture Surge* and Dramatically Different Moisturizer* that I could try. The toner was a little too strong for me, but both the moisturizers were great and I would consider purchasing myself!

By the end of the week, my rosacea had calmed down a lot and my skin was still feeling hydrated and plump, which is something I normally really struggle with. It also seemed a lot brighter and I had a much healthier glow, which is exactly what I needed as we move into spring. When I went to see the Clinique girls they did say that even if you don’t buy the large set for continuous daily use, the 7-day set is ideal for prepping your skin for any upcoming events, holidays or even a wedding. For me, the large set was slightly too expensive, not because I wasn’t happy with the results, but purely because I know I love to try so many new things and I don’t always stick with the same product every day, so the money would be wasted as the vitamin C degrades. I would however definitely repurchase the 7-day set when I want to get my skin prepped and ready for big events.

Have you tried Clinique’s 7-day vitamin C range, if so how did you get on?
