My Current High End Skincare Saviours

So if you saw my post recently about the Latest in Beauty subscription box, you will know I am back on the beauty bandwagon. Today I wanted to share with you my current skincare saviours. I am obsessed with skincare the most out of all the beauty categories and I love to try new things.  Over the past few months I have really tried to create a skincare routine that has helped to calm my rosacea, keep my skin hydrated and just generally keep it clear and in good condition. I have found some great new products that I absolutely love and seem to be reaching for all the time.

I would just like to point out and I am sure you have already guessed, but I am not a one brand type of girl. I love to mix up both high end and drug store items as I think both offer a really good selection of products. At the same time, I don’t always stick with the same products everyday as I find sometimes my skin gets used to what I am using. So, I like to shake it up a bit. I am not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I am the same with hair products too. Over the week/month I seem to rotate between these brands and style/type of product, but these ones I have been using for a least 6 months now and some of them even longer.

I know skincare can be super personal and any skincare concerns/issues can play a big part in our everyday lives, so I want these recommendations to be as helpful as possible. So firstly let me give you a little bit of an update on my skin and it’s condition if you have been reading my blog for a while or a mini breakdown if you are new to the blog. Some of these products may be helpful for you or you may find they might not suit your skin type, but I will try to provide as much information as I can.

Skin breakdown:
So as you saw earlier, I suffer from rosacea and I have the very typical symptoms including a large amount of redness. My skin can sometimes be a little sensitive because of this, but it hasn’t put me off trying new things just yet. My skin is normally very dry, but sometimes oily in the T-Zone area. I do suffer from hormonal or stress induced breakouts on a monthly basis, but I can honestly say I have seen a massive improvement in this using the right products and routine (let me know in the comments if you would like to see a separate post about this).

Liz Earle – Cleanse and Polish
If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know this has been in my skincare collection for a good few years now. I use it at least twice a week, if not more and I always have backups and travel sizes available. I always use it when my skin is irritated, drier than normal or if it has broken out and gone crazy. It’s always my safe bet and I know I can always rely on it! I think prices start around £14 a bottle, which I think is absolutely amazing for a product that I can rely on so much. It is also the one beauty product that I would recommend to absolutely anyone, as I think everyone needs to try it at least once – let’s just say I’ve not spoken to anyone who hasn’t loved it!

Liz Earle – Superskin Moisturiser
Now considering how obsessed I am with the cleanse and polish, you would think that I would have jumped on the whole Liz Earle skincare range a long time ago, but no. For some stupid reason and I literally have no idea why I have never got around to buying any. That was all changed recently when I went to the Liz Earle counter in John Lewis for one of the complimentary signature treatments, which I would also highly recommend (you can read all about them here). I fell in love instantly with their superskin moisturisers and oils. They all smell incredible, feel so luxurious and do exactly what they say on the bottle. I think this is probably one of the very few brands that I have fallen in love with such a wide range of their products. I will admit the superskin range is on the higher end of the beauty budget, but still not as high as some other brands. I recently purchased mine in a set, which saved me so much money and I would happily pay out the full price for each item again. My skin went a little crazy around 4/5 months ago. It started breaking out lots, then I had surgery and that just ruined it completely, so I decided to invest in the range and I have never looked back. Again this moisturiser is one that I use every week and can rely on to keep my skin hydrated all day.

Liz Earle – Superskin Concentrate
Again this was something that came in the set that I bought and I also tried when I had my complimentary treatment. I love using this at night time to recharge my skin. I already know I will be using this in the height of winter as it’s so great at adding hydration and life back into dull skin, especially when it’s paired with the moisturiser.

Aurelia Probiotic Skincare – Cell Repair Night Oil
You will have seen this little beauty on the blog before. It was perfectly described to me as a ‘facial in a bottle’ and that is the best way to sum it up. It smells absolutely divine and just like the cleanse and polish, I rely on this all whenever my skin isn’t at it’s best or if it needs a little extra hydration. It’s calming, soothing and always leaves my skin looking healthier. Again this is more of a night time product that I usually smother my face in and let it work it’s magic over night. There has never been morning when I have woken up and not seen an improvement.

So that is the round up of my current skincare saviours that I’ve been loving for quite some time now. I am sure as we move into Autumn/Winter my skincare routine will change a little, but I think these products will be moving into the colder months with me.

What are your current go to skincare saviours? Let me know in the comments if have tried any of these or if there is anything you think I should try. As always if you have any questions at all feel free to pop them in the comments below or you can tweet me at @laurasimoneowen.

After speaking to you the other day, I definitely want to invest in Cleanse and Polish. I’d love to see a post about the improvement of your skin with certain products! Amazing post as always xx
