Dear Diary: Days Off Work

I am not going to lie, I absolutely hate booking days off work when I don’t have anything exciting planned; I feel like its a complete waste. I don’t normally mind what the plans are, as long as there is something planned. After a few crazy weeks I decided it was about time for some relaxation, especially with the start of my masters course fast approaching and that a day off was needed.

So I started brainstorming and realised very quickly that no one can resist a spa day, myself included! There is something extra special about going to the spa for a treatment rather than to your normal salon. With that in mind, I sat trawling through the internet looking at all the options and I managed to find a great deal for Bryn Meadows spa.

Excited for some time off, I booked the day off work and arranged for us to have some lovely treatments. The package came with 3 hours use of their lovely facilities, so we spent the morning jumping from the sauna to the steam room, into the hydrotherapy pool and back again. After spending some time in their relaxation room, we were called in to have our treatments – a mini facial and a shoulder, neck and back massage – which was very much needed!

I left the treatment room feeling like my skin was glowing and I was walking on air. To top the morning off I had booked us in for afternoon tea. We sat chatting over multiple cups of tea, cucumber sandwiches and too many slices of cake; which were of course delicious!

After a lovely morning chatting, relaxing and being pampered, I wasn’t quite ready to go home and let the day be over. We decided to go in to Cardiff for a mooch around the shops. I loved checking out all the new autumn collections; there are some really nice pieces and I cannot wait to fill my wardrobe.

Finally we decided that we hadn’t quite eaten enough, so we popped into Bill’s for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and they have really nice cocktails too, although I decided to go for pink lemonade because ya know everything is better in pink.

I think its safe to say my day off work was definitely well spent!
