New Year, New Motivation & New Goals

Well it wouldn’t be New Year without me putting a new blog post live; it’s become a bit of a tradition, so of course this year will be no different. I started the year being stuck in the festive fog and struggling to break out of it. It was not great; I felt overwhelmed, unorganised and confused as to what day of the week it was. So, I decided to write of the first few days of the year and get myself organised and technically my New Year is starting today – best decision I have made this year!

This post isn’t your average new year, new goals post; mainly because I think you would get bored of reading the never ending list I have made myself – I have high expectations for 2019. This post is more about what I want to focus on with my blog and YouTube channel this year.

What does the future hold for Laura-Simone?

Laura-Simone has been my baby for a few years now and I still love everything about it. Although, like I said I have high expectations for 2019 and my blog/channel are no different. There might be a little bit of re-branding in 2019 and that’s purely because I feel like I have changed and grown a lot since I first started it and I want both my blog and channel to reflect that.

What can you expect from me?

More consistency – I have made a content plan for the start of the year to help me get organised and lay out what I want to cover on my blog over the next few weeks. I am hoping that means there will be lots of new lovely content for you to read. I am sure just like life there will be the odd few weeks where things don’t always go to plan, but I have good intentions!

More themes – This year I really want to have some themed content. So, whether it’s seasonal or event based, I am hoping to have content focused around that theme. For example, Easter, autumn, Halloween and dare I say it – Christmas. I just thought it would be fun and something a little bit different for me.

More variation – I find it so easy to get caught up blogging about the same things because that is what is current in my life at the time, but this year I would like a bit more variation. I am hoping my content planner will help me achieve that. It will hopefully also allow me to cover new types of content, bring back some old ones and let me continue creating content about things I love.

More YouTube videos – We started family vlogging in December and I am hoping to carry that on into 2019. We think it will be a great way to capture all the fun things we get up to and to have some lovely memories to look back on. We are also hoping to capture how our lives will change over the next year as we become a family of three (you can catch up on that here).

Why now?

I am hoping that by putting all of this out there for you all to read will mean it will motivate me to stick to my plan and be a bit more accountable. Last year Laura-Simone took a bit of a back seat and I am hoping to avoid that happening again. There will be lots of change for us in 2019 with Baby Owen-Gibson joining us, so it seemed apt to just have good change in all aspects of my life.

What would you like to change or achieve in 2019? I would love to hear from you, so please leave me a comment below!
