One of my favourite things about Christmas is all the food. It’s the perfect excuse to have all the things you love and try new things as well. This time of year always makes me want to cook and bake more often as well. I don’t know what it is, but I love being in the kitchen and filling the house with festive treats. There is also nothing better than cosying up in the evenings, Christmas tree lights on and a little homemade snack to munch on.
One of the best things to buy at Christmas markets is the roasted nuts because they are so bloody delicious, not to mention their heavenly smell. I have been using this recipe for years now and it is still one of my favourites. They are so easy to make and it’s the perfect festive snack.
Spoiler alert – they are a little bit moreish/addictive!
Prep time: 5-10 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
900g pecans (or any type of nuts)
2 egg whites
2 teaspoons of water
225g sugar
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of salt
Fry Light spray
Instructions:
Although the recipe says pecan nuts it can be made with any nuts, as pecans can be rather pricey if you need a lot. I normally use mixed nuts so that there is a little bit of everything.
Do you love the smell and taste of roasted nuts? Let me know in the comments what you thought to this recipe!
Can 100% confirm that these are the best things ever! I will definitely be making these soon
