Now as you may have seen from some of my previous posts I have recently been introduced to Aurelia probiotic skincare. I purchased the miracle cleanser at a recent MyShowcase party that I attended and instantly fell in love! (you can read all about that one here) I was very lucky and Aurelia kindly sent me a lovely selection of samples of their other products and I have been spoilt for skincare choices this past week. I have been testing each of them out and so far I am really impressed.
Cell Repair Night Oil – This is an overnight treatment that I have fallen in love with; a friend described it as a facial in a bottle and she was spot on! I think this product would suit all skin types, if you have oily skin you might only treat your skin to it once or twice a week or if you have really dry skin like myself you may use it more frequently. The smell is absolutely divine and lets you wake up with your skin feeling soft, plump and re-energised.
Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser – This one definitely surprised me and was not what I expected at all. I thought the consistency would be more cream almost gel like, but it has a really light and almost whipped (like buttercream) texture. Don’t be fooled when I say light, it was still perfect at keeping my skin hydrated all day.
Revitalise & Glow Serum – I found this had all the benefits of the night oil but in a much lighter version; perfect for day time use. I paired this with the day moisturiser and my skin felt as though it was glowing, which says a lot for someone with really dry skin and rosacea.
Firm & Revitalising Dry Body Oil – Ok so I am not going to lie, I love the idea of body oils, but I am really fussy when it comes to finding one I actually like. The concept is always great, but the practicality is where I get fed up. I find that some are too oily and you either have to wait around to get dressed or put on something that your not worried about. Then you have the other extreme where they are too dry and its hard to rub in and you end up using loads all in one go just to make it feel as though you are getting all of the benefits. I was pleasantly surprised with this one, being a dry oil in sunk into the skin very quickly, but also had the right consistency so that you could get an even coverage. I think this will be perfect for the summer if you are in a rush and just about to head out the door. As my skin is quite dry I am not sure how well it would work in the winter for me, it may be that I would need to use more product or just use it more frequently.
Aromatic Repair & Brighten Hand Cream – This instantly reminded me of the Crabtree and Evelyn range, which I love. Hand creams are again something I am very fussy with, it has to have the right consistency and be hydrating enough to actually do the job, but it also cant leave my skin feeling greasy (I promise I’m really not high maintenance). This one is designed to to brighten the skin and reduced pigmentation which I thought was a really innovative idea for a hand cream, and I definitely think my hands looked hydrated and felt softer after using.
Refine & Polish Miracle Balm – Ok so I will admit it took me a while to work out what this actually was. When I finally realised it was an exfoliator, I instantly wanted to test it out as I love them. I feel like they wash away all the dirt and nasties that build up on your skin more than a cleanser can. At the moment my skin is fairly congested, so it was perfect timing. From the first use my skin definitely looked smoother and brighter. I think this will be something I need to include in my skincare routine on a more regular basis to see the full effects, but on first impressions it was really nice.
Now as I mentioned in my review video I was a little confused and curious about having probiotics in skincare. I instantly pictured Yakult for the skin … surprisingly it wasn’t that appealing. After doing a little bit of research I realised I had seriously been missing out! Probiotics help protect and balance the skin which ultimately helps it fight inflammation and imbalances. If you are still not sure or you would like to know a bit more about their products I highly recommend you checkout Aurelia’s science page, it goes into all the details as to what and how their products work. How many brands do that? If you are just interested in learning more about the benefits of probiotics you can also find more about that on there too.
It is very rare to find a brand that you enjoy using so many of their products. However there is something in the Aurelia formula that my skin loves and it drinks it right up. I have loved using each of these and my skin would definitely agree. For anyone wondering Aurelia products are all cruelty free and do not contain any parabens, silicones and other little nasties just lots of gorgeous essential oils and botanicals (which also means they smell absolutely amazing).
Have you tried Aurelia products before? Let me know if the comments what you thought.
I am obsessed with trying new skincare products lately. I haven’t heard of this brand before but they sound amazing!
