We are well into January now and so far I have managed to escape the January blues. I am still riding the new year motivation train and trying to make the most of it. Basically, I will take any motivation I can get right now, because adult life is tiring as hell sometimes!

You might have seen my recent post about my 2018 goals. It basically covered my blogging, YouTube and life plans for the next year. I also have a chatty video all about it too. Since then I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about exactly what I would like to this year and how I am going to do it. I am thinking of sharing some monthly bucket/to do list type posts too, but today I wanted to cover the beauty goals that I am setting myself for the next year. The goals that basically I want to turn into beauty habits.

Declutter

My first plan before I do anything else this year is to have a big clear out! I’m talking everything not just beauty, but my makeup, skincare, hair bits and just generally my bathroom cabinet will be a good place to start. Decluttering is one of my habits anyway and I can be so ruthless, but for some reason the beauty section has got a little out of hand lately. I have so many bits and pieces in there, some I’m sure I have forgotten about. Some are probably out of date and others are likely to be running out, so a good clear out is in order.

Experiment more

I love experimenting with skincare items, but last year I didn’t try as many new things as I would have liked. I also hardly ever experiment with makeup either, I just stick to the same few products (one of my worst beauty habits). I see so many lovely things I would like to try, but never get around to picking them up and giving them a go.

Drink more water

This is a must for 2018! Water is the main thing I drink, but I still don’t drink enough. Next year I am really going to try and up my water intake. I have even bought a fancy new bottle to help motivate me too. I know it will make a huge difference to my skin and I cannot wait to see the effects.

Treat myself

My plan for 2018 is to treat myself more. Whether it’s picking up a new mascara to try, having a huge bubbly lush bath with a face mask or booking myself in to have a pedicure; I am going to try treat myself. I learnt in 2017 that I don’t take enough time out for myself and I get run down and burnt out way too quickly so this year that is going to change.

Improve my skincare routine

I am going to try my hardest in 2018 to nail my skincare routine; both face and body. I made such progress in 2017 and found some products that I bloody love, so I really want to up my game this year. Last year I managed to get into the habit of taking my make up off properly and using a good moisturiser (I know it’s only taken like 27 years). This year I want to find the balance between introducing a few new steps into my routine, but still keep it simple.

    Oh I love a good declutter (does anyone else love to watch declutter videos as much as me?). It makes me feel so productive and motivated!
